Pet Insurance for Rescue Cats

Join other UK Rescue Cat owners to get a 32.5% discount on pet insurance

About this group

It is estimated that 8.5 million cats are currently being kept as pets in UK homes. These cats are mostly kept indoors and cared for like members of the family, but for too many, this is not the case.

Fortunately, people like you are giving these neglected animals a loving home. We want to reward this so we’ve negotiated an exclusive 32.5% discount on More Than pet insurance.

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home look after approximately 190 cats at any one time, and that is just a drop in the ocean. Thankfully, with charities like BDCH and others, including the RSPCA, Cat Protection and smaller centres like Cat Cuddles in Greenwich, many cats are being rehomed and cared for every day.

Despite what many people believe, cats are extremely affectionate animals. A cat rescued from neglect and abuse, and brought into a loving home will be even more grateful and appreciative of the kind humans who gave it a second chance.

Many people wrongly believe that it is not possible to find pure breed cats in rescue shelters, however, there are actually special shelters dedicated to various breeds of cats, who are very much in need of a forever home. Whether you are looking for a pure breed or a moggy you can give a cat with a sad past a chance of a happy future.

Most cats, whether pure breed or mixed, are generally healthy. However, when it comes to rescues who have been abused or neglected, health issues can arise.

By joining this group, you club together with other owners of rescued cats to get a 32.5% discount on pet insurance.

Top questions answered by us

  • What if I don't know my cat's date of birth?

Any cat rehomed through a charity will usually have had a medical exam prior to rehoming, and the vet should have come up with an estimated DOB. Alternatively, if you rescued your cat from the street, your vet can examine it to approximate the DOB.
