Travel insurance for cancer sufferers – a solution
The insurance industry has long been wary of providing holiday insurance for cancer patients. For survivors – i.e. those with an all clear, where the condition is a thing of the past – some solutions exist. However for patients or sufferers – i.e. those who have cancer now, those who are undergoing treatment now or those awaiting a diagnosis - cover has been nearly impossible to get.
What happens when getting travel insurance with cancer today
Trying to get travel insurance for cancer sufferers is difficult because almost every insurer will refuse cover if someone is currently on a waiting list, undergoing treatment, or awaiting results or a diagnosis. Due to the necessary treatment and monitoring, anyone who currently has cancer will almost certainly be in at least one of those situations, and so be unable to get the cover they need. This can lead to hours spent getting the same refusal time and again. For many, this means they cannot risk the travel and so terribly they miss out on the trip of a lifetime.
Where can I get travel insurance as a cancer sufferer?
We believe this is unfair so we are on the lookout for insurers and policies that offer fairer travel insurance to people with cancer. Join our Travel Insurance for Cancer sufferers group to keep up to date. Joining the group will add your voice to the strength of the group, meaning in the future we can hopefully improve things.
Bought by Many
Bought by Many create groups who are struggling to get good service from the insurance market. We then use the collective buying power of these groups to negotiate with insurers and bring them the products and prices that the members of the groups need. The bigger the groups get, the stronger their negotiating power.
