5 tips to keep your dog safe in a storm

Sam Gilbert By Sam Gilbert

1. Bring them inside well before the storm gets going.

2. If your dog isn't microchipped, make sure their collar and identification is fitted securely. It's quite common for dogs to get upset and run away during a storm.

3. Make a safe place for your dog, with their favourite toys, ideally in the quietest room in your house. Close the curtains.

4. Distract them! Food and play are great ways of calming dogs down.

5. Don't show your dog more affection than usual. If you behave as if nothing is wrong, they are less likely to get upset.
