You might have noticed Sweep is helping us tell people about our unique pet insurance products.
Find out about all our pet insurance policies and get a quote here.
And you can watch our latest ad from 2020 here.
We've also created an online-only exclusive video, which features behind the scenes footage and is a little more cheeky than the TV ads:
Here’s Sweep in all our adverts:
In another scene in the vet waiting room, Sweep meets Doris the talkative terrier. Sweep has an arrow through his head but the real problem is that he’s lost his squeak.
Luckily, Doris tells him about our MoneyBack insurance policy, that pays back 20% of your premium for ever year you don’t need to claim. Sweep gets so excited that his lack of squeak is cured.
MoneyBack features £7,000 of vet fees and you can get a quote here.
Our third TV advert features Oscar the veteran thespian cat. Sweep appears to have come into a spot of bother while performing, at least we assume that’s how he ended up with a sword in his back.
At first Oscar is more interested in finding out who Sweep’s agent is but he also tells our accident-prone hero about our Pre-Existing policy that can offer a limited amount of cover for conditions a pet has recently suffered from. We’re the only company that offers this type of policy.
Oscar is a little too dramatic for Sweep and he ends up crashing out of shot as he backs away.
Facts about Sweep and his insurance quotes
Now that Sweep knows about Bought By Many’s pet insurance, we thought we’d help him get some quotes.
As any pet owner knows, your pet insurance quote is tailored to the breed of your cat or dog and factors such as where you live. So here are the things you need to know about Sweep:
What breed of dog is Sweep?
Sweep is a Cocker Spaniel. To be specific, he’s a blue roan Cocker Spaniel, which is known for its bluish-grey fur and black ears. Roaning refers to the most dominant colour or pattern on an animal.
How old is Sweep?
We think that Sweep is a perennial puppy. However, he first appeared in The Sooty Show in 1957, which would make him 60 years old. It would be very expensive to insure a dog that old, although most of our pet insurance policies do cover cats and dogs of any age, so to get Sweep a quote we said he was under two years old.
Where does Sweep live?
According to the most recent series of Sooty, Sweep lives in Somerset, along with Sooty and Soo.
How much would it cost to insure Sweep with Bought By Many?
Using the above information we got Sweep quotes for our three unique pet insurance policies:
- MoneyBack with a £69 excess - £18.55 a month (he will get £44.52 back at the end of the year if he doesn’t need to claim).
- And because he often gets himself into scrapes we also looked at a Pre-Existing policy that can offer cover for existing medical issues. Pre-Existing with a £99 excess - £29.12 a month.
There are ways to lower the price of these quotes by opting to pay 20% of a claim on top of the excess.
And we do offer more traditional policies from Value cover to Complete, the most comprehensive pet insurance policy on the market.
For these policies, Sweep’s quotes range up to £25.85 a month.
Sweep is a bit of a liability so he may also be interested in our Liability Only policy, which offers £3m of public liability cover but no vet fees.It would cost him just 84p a month.
We didn’t get quotes for Sooty, Soo or Scampi (Sweep’s cousin) because they’re all bears, although they may be able to get cover from our sister insurer ExoticDirect. We do insure cats and dogs but bears and puppets aren’t our speciality.
