Bought By Many has launched Snap Claims, an online pet insurance claims process with no forms. We are the the first pet insurer to offer this service.
Most other companies require customers to call or fill in paper or online forms to make a claim.
Only 6% of UK insurers offered online claims in 2017, according to Altus Consulting. Of those that offer pet insurance, you either cannot complete the whole claim online or have to fill in an online form.
How Snap Claims works
Snap Claims asks a handful of questions, including the contact details of your vet. Once we have that information we can get in touch with the vet to find out about the treatment and costs and quickly arrange a payout if the claim is successful.
Customers can access Snap Claim by logging into My Account. During the claim, you will be invited to submit a photo of your vet receipt to speed up the process but if you don’t have any documents it’s not a problem.
We can pay you or the vet directly, whichever you prefer. And we’ll update you on the progress of the claim via text messages and emails.
Snap Claims is available for Bought By Many’s pet insurance, which has unique policies that include a choice between fixed prices, no excess, cover for pre-existing conditions and money back if you don’t claim.
Customers can still claim by phone if it’s more convenient.

How many claims does Bought By Many pay?
Between August and October 2017, we paid claims in 15.1 days on average and accepted 93.8% of claims.
The main reasons for claims being rejected were they were made during the 14-day exclusion period at the start of a policy or they were for pre-existing conditions.
Excluding those reasons, we accepted 98.3% of claims.
We can cover existing conditions under our Pre-existing cover but our other policies do not cover conditions experienced in the two years before a policy starts.
