We've teamed up with PitPat pet trackers to offer Bought By Many pet insurance customers 10,000 points with PitPat Life until August 10. The points can be used to buy dog care items, toys and treats from the PitPat online shop.
We want to support the health and wellbeing of our customers' dogs and using PitPat is one way to ensure they're getting enough exercise.
What is PitPat Life?
PitPat Life is a subscription service that helps dog owners make the most out of their PitPat activity tracker.
Owners signed-up to the service earn points by exercising their dogs and get access to exclusive discounts and prizes.
The subscription comes with a PitPat activity tracker and costs £4 a month.
How do you earn points?
You earn points when your dog meets its daily activity goal. You can also earn bonus points when your dog reaches its goal a few days in a row and when you update its weight.
PitPat Life comes with an activity tracker (it's like Fitbit for dogs) and an app that connects to it. The app recommends your dog’s daily activity goal based on its age, weight and breed. The tracker monitors your dog’s activity and sends information to the app via Bluetooth.
Through the app you can see how much your dog has exercised and what types of activity it does every minute of the day, eg pottering, sleeping, running walking, playing. Time spent walking, running or playing counts towards their daily exercise goal.
When your dog meets the daily exercise goal, points are added to your account. You can see your points using the app.
You can choose to decrease or increase the daily goal recommended by the app, but increasing it will not give you more points as PitPat does not want to encourage over-exercising.
How do you win prizes?
The points your dog earns can be exchanged for prizes in the PitPat store. Prizes include useful dog care items, toys and surprises.
Bought By Many customers get 10,000 points automatically added to their account when they sign up to PitPat Life and quote the customer referral code BBMTENK3 when they purchase.
PitPat says that “owners who do their best for their dog deserve something a little extra too”.
Discounts and Perks
PitPat Life members have access to perks and discounts from an array of dog care retailors.
You can get £50 off a dog-friendly holiday with PetsPyjamas, 20% off Ruffwear, up to £80 off a holiday with your dog from Forest Holidays, 16% off a canine first-aid course and more.
The PitPat Life Welcome Pack includes a sample of EUKANUBA tailored nutrition food, selected to suit your particular dog; and a £5 voucher for Pets at Home when you first shop there.
PitPat is seeking to add new discounts and perks as often as possible; so, the list is expected to grow.
How pet activity trackers help keep your dog fit
Pet trackers are like Fitbit for pets. They help monitor your pet’s activity, weight, number of calories burnt and sometimes its location, depending on the tracker.
Pet tracker services like PitPat Life encourage and support dogs’ wellbeing by rewarding pet owners who make sure their dogs get the amount of exercise needed to sustain their health and wellbeing.
In spite of the rewards available to owners who do their best to exercise their pets, PitPat says that “the biggest reward is a happy and healthy dog”.
