Updated 7 November 2019

What is PitPat Life?

PitPat sells activity monitors that can be used to track your dog's activity, that could be a proper walk or your pet moving around the house while you're at work.

PitPat Life is a subscription service that costs £4 a month. It gives owners the PitPat activity tracker and allows them to earn points by exercising their dog. The points can be used to access exclusive discounts and prizes.

How do you earn PitPat Life points?

There are a few ways to earn points:

  • Weigh your dog and update the information in the PitPat app
  • Complete your daily activity goals
  • Complete your goals serval days in row to earn bonus points

PitPat Life comes with an activity tracker (it's like Fitbit for dogs) and an app that connects to it. The app recommends your dog’s daily activity goal based on its age, weight and breed. The tracker monitors your dog’s activity and sends information to the app via Bluetooth.

Through the app you can see how much your dog has exercised and what types of activity it does every minute of the day, for example, pottering, sleeping, running walking, playing. Time spent walking, running or playing counts towards their daily exercise goal.

When your dog meets its daily exercise goal, points are added to your account. You can see your points using the app.

You can choose to decrease or increase the daily goal recommended by the app, but increasing it will not give you more points as PitPat does not want to encourage over-exercising.

PitPat Walkies TV ad

In September 2019, PitPat released an advert called Go Mad For Walkies that was designed to grab dogs' attention and excite them by using cues they might associate with going for a walk.

An actress called out "walkies", jangled keys, clicked leads, flicked a door catch and ended up firing tennis balls from bazookas at the camera.

PitPat also used the hashtag #madforwalkies to get people talking about it.

How do you win prizes?

The points your dog earns can be exchanged for prizes in the PitPat store. Prizes include useful dog care items, toys and surprises.

Bought By Many customers get 10,000 points automatically added to their account when they sign up to PitPat Life and quote the customer referral code BBMTENK3 when they purchase.

PitPat says that “owners who do their best for their dog deserve something a little extra too”.

Discounts and Perks

PitPat Life members can get perks and discounts from an array of dog care retailers.

At the time of writing it was offering £50 off a dog-friendly holidays worth over £500 with PetsPyjamas, 20% off Ruffwear, a discount worth up to £80 off a holiday with your dog from Forest Holidays, 16% off a canine first-aid course and more.

The PitPat Life Welcome Pack includes a sample of EUKANUBA tailored nutrition food, selected to suit your particular dog.

How pet activity trackers help keep your dog fit

Pet trackers are like Fitbit for pets. They help monitor your pet’s activity, weight, number of calories burnt and sometimes its location, depending on the tracker.

Pet tracker services like PitPat Life encourage and support dogs’ wellbeing by rewarding pet owners who make sure their dogs get the amount of exercise needed to sustain their health and wellbeing.

In spite of the rewards available to owners who do their best to exercise their pets, PitPat says that “the biggest reward is a happy and healthy dog”.
