Octagon Insurance used to offer two types of car insurance cover in the UK: third party, fire and theft, and comprehensive car insurance.
Third party, fire and theft covers you for damage you may cause to other people, their vehicles or their property in case of an accident (but does not cover the damage to your own car). You are also covered in case your car is stolen or damaged by fire.
Octagon's Standard comprehensive car insurance cover includes cover for your car in case of an accident, third party cover, damage through fire, cover if your car is stolen, a free courtesy car if yours is damaged in an accident, windscreen protection, cover for your personal belongings and cover for medical expenses.
Octagon van insurance offers similar cover options to their car insurance policies, plus you can add tools in transit cover for £500, £1,000 or £2,500. Cover is available to drivers aged 21 and over.
All policyholders have access to a 24/7 UK-based claims helpline and up to 90 days of cover for driving within the EU.

On Reviews.co.uk, Octagon car insurance received 3.3 out of 5 stars from 258 reviews, with 58% of customers saying they would recommend their services.
Over on Reviewcentre.com, things are less favourable. Octagon car insurance received only 1.3 out of 5 stars and only 8% of the 474 reviewers said they would recommend the service.

In 2015 Defaqto – the independent financial reviewing body – gave Octagon Car Insurance 3 stars, making it "a standard product providing an average level of features and benefits". As of 2018 Octagon insurance are no longer rated by Defaqto and we couldn't find any other expert ratings of their products during our last update in May.
