What types of travel insurance does Multitrip.com offer?
MultiTrip is an Irish travel insurer. On its website it has the option to set your location to either Ireland, the UK or Australia.
It offers three different types of travel insurance policy: single trip, multi-trip (as the name suggests), and backpacker.
The policies are similar for all regions but in Ireland it now offers a two-year multi-trip policy.
For its single trip and multi-trip policies, there are three levels of cover. Here are the levels for the UK:
This policy offers medical expenses of £20m, baggage cover of £1,000, cancellation cover of £1,000, personal accident cover of £10,000 and personal liability cover of £2m.
Multitrip.com's Premier policy offers £20m in medical expenses, £1,500 baggage cover, cancellation cover of £3,000, personal accident cover of £25,000, and personal liability cover of £2m.

Multitrip.com's most comprehensive and most expensive policy offers £20m in medical expenses cover, baggage cover of £3,000, cancellation cover of £5,000, personal accident cover of £40,000 and personal liability of £3m.
Excesses vary depending on what you are claiming for and which policy you have chosen. The lowest excess is £50 on things like cancellation on the Premier Plus policy. However, on its Essential policy, this excess is £195. Make sure the excess is at a level that is affordable for you if you do need to make a claim.
Multitrip.com offers a number of optional extras, including winter sports cover, cruise connection cover, travel disruption (if the airline, rather than you, has to cancel the flight), and an excess waiver. Bear in mind that each of these additional options will increase the price of your premium.
Are there any restrictions with Multitrip.com travel insurance?

Does Multitrip.com offer travel insurance for over 65s?
Multitrip.com will offer travel insurance for over 65s on some of its policies. Its maximum age limit on an Annual Multi-trip policy is 75 years on its Premier or Premier Plus policy, with a maximum trip duration of 21 days. For a trip lasting up to 60 days, its maximum age limit is 65.
On its Essential policy, its maximum age limit is 49 years, with a maximum trip duration of 35 days.
Its single trip policies have different age limits. On its Essential policy, you can travel for up to 93 days if you are under the age of 49 years old.
If you are on the Premier or Premier Plus policy, you can travel for up to 365 days if you are 65 or under, and 21 days if you are between the ages of 66 and 79.
Its backpacker policy has a maximum age limit of 49 years old.

How much does travel insurance from Multitrip.com cost?
Multitrip says its annual travel insurance product starts from £19.99. This figure is based on its Essential policy for a person under 50 years old travelling in Europe.
In reality, it's difficult to estimate how much travel insurance from Multitrip.com will cost due to the number of factors that influence the price of a travel insurance premium. These include your destination, how long your trip is going to last for, your age, the type of policy you choose, and whether you pick any additional extras.

Does Multitrip.com offer travel insurance cover for pre-existing conditions?
Multitrip.com can't cover you for most pre-existing conditions. The policy requires you to declare any pre-existing conditions you have before you purchase your travel insurance. It defines this as any condition you have suffered from or received medical advice, treatment or medication for in the last two years.
Conditions you won't be covered for include:
- Heart-related conditions
- Circulatory conditions, such as hypertension or high blood pressure
- Breathing conditions
- Psychiatric conditions, such as anxiety or depression
There are some less severe conditions you will be covered for under the policy, without having to declare them for screening. These include things like blindness, eczema, hayfever and tonsilitis. This is true of most travel insurance policies.
Make sure you check your policy documents so you know exactly what you are covered for under Multitrip.com's travel insurance, and declare anything the company asks. If you do not declare any illnesses you have, you may not be able to successfully make a claim on its travel insurance.

How to make a claim on Multitrip.com travel insurance
To make a claim on Multitrip.com's travel insurance, you'll have to telephone the company's claims line on 0203 3622 424. The company will then issue you with a claims form. You will have to return this within 31 days of the incident.
You can also get yourself a claims form from www.travelclaimservices.com/claims, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you contact the claims department, you'll need to have:
- Your policy number
- The dates of your insurance purchase
- Details of your trip, including the resort and country visited and the travel dates
- The value and type of claim, including the cirumcumstances under which the event took place
- The date the incident happened
Make sure you include all the information the company needs to increase your chances of having your claim paid out. If you do not include all the documents the company requires, you may not receive a payout, or your payout may be delayed.
