Overview of the cover provided by Kwik-Fit Pet Insurance

Kwik-Fit Pet Insurance has four available cover levels:

Bronze – includes £2,000 of vet fees cover per accident per year (illness not covered); £500 cover for cruciate ligament; £500 for CT/MRI scans and associated costs; £500 for dental treatment as a result of an accident/injury; and £1,000,000 for third party liability (dogs only).

Silver – includes £2,000 of vet fees cover per condition (both accident and illness covered); £2,000 cover for cruciate ligament; £100 special diet cover; £500 for CT/MRI scans and associated costs; £1,000 for dental treatment as a result of an accident/injury; £750 for death of pet; £250 for advertising and reward; £750 for loss by theft or straying; £750 for emergency boarding; £750 for holiday cancellation; £500 for quarantine costs; £250 for loss of pet passport; £750 for daily minding; £1,000 overseas travel cover; and £1,500,000 for third party liability (dogs only).

Platinum – includes £6,000 of vet fees cover per condition per year (both accident and illness covered); £6,000 cover for cruciate ligament; £100 special diet cover; £1,500 for CT/MRI scans and associated costs; £1,000 for dental treatment as a result of an accident/injury; £1,500 for death of pet; £1,000 for advertising and reward; £1,500 for loss by theft or straying; £1,000 for emergency boarding; £1,500 for holiday cancellation; £750 for quarantine costs; £250 for loss of pet passport; £1,000 for daily minding; £2,000 overseas travel cover; £300 personal accident cover; and £1,500,000 for third party liability (dogs only).

All policies include £500 for complimentary treatment.

All customers get access to a 24/7 Vetfone advice line, as well a registered pet-sitter directory.

A £60 excess applies to claims (£250 for third party legal liability claims), and a 15% co-payment fee will have to be paid by the claimant for pets over 8. Claims can be made and tracked online.

On petinsurancereview.co.uk, Kwik-Fit Pet Insurance got 1 out of 5 stars (based on 2 reviews) and smartmoneypeople.com features 1 4 star review for the service (from January this year).

We weren’t able to find more customer reviews of Kwik-Fit’s pet insurance service, but the company as a whole got 4.42 out of 5 stars on reviews.co.uk (based on 1381 reviews), with 59% of customers who left reviews giving Kwik-Fit 5 out of 5 stars, and a further 31% leaving 4-star reviews. On TrustPilot, Kwik-Fit got just 2 out of 5 stars (based on 15 reviews) and a rating of 4.2 out of 10 (marking it as Poor).

What do Kwik-Fit Pet Insurance reviews from the experts say?

Independent financial researcher Defaqto has rated Kwik-Fit Pet Insurance’s Platinum policy as 5 Star. The company’s Gold and Silver policies were rated as 3 Stars and their Bronze cover was rated as 2 Star.
