Overview of the cover provided by Intelligent Insurance

Intelligent Insurance work with a number of underwriters to find home insurance for ‘hard to insure’ properties, including – listed buildings, period houses, converted barns, thatched properties, flat roof properties and timber framed houses. They also strive to offer insurance for all types of conditions, including subsidence, underpinned houses and house renovation.

Intelligent Insurance offer Building Insurance, Contents Insurance and a combined policy of both.

Buildings Insurance includes up to £1,000,000 to cover loss or damage to the structure of your property; cover for loss of rent and costs of alternative accommodation; property owners liability cover; accidental damage cover for windows, underground pipework (oil, water supply, gas), drains, cables and sanitary ware; ‘Trace and Access’ cover in order to locate and access the source of water leaks, and making good following a repair. An increased cover limit and extended accidental damage are available at an added cost.

Contents Insurance includes up to £1,000,000 to cover loss or damage to the structure of your property; cover for loss of rent and costs of alternative accommodation; property owners liability cover; accidental damage cover for windows, underground pipework (oil, water supply, gas), drains, cables and sanitary ware; accidental damage to home entertainment equipment – including TV, DVD, radio and home PC (excludes portable computers); and cover for ‘high risk’ items (such as jewellery, art and watches) up to £2,000 per item. Extended accidental damage and cover for your belongings outside of the home is available at an added cost.

Bicycle cover is included as standard, with cover away from the home available at an added cost.

Family Legal Protection of up to £25,000 is included as standard with all policies purchased after July 23rd 2015. This cover can be extended to £100,000 for an added cost.

Home Emergency Cover up to £200 per callout (with a £600 annual limit) is included in all policies purchased after July 23rd 2015. This cover can be extended to £1,000 per callout with no annual limit for an added cost. Customers receive access to a 24-hour helpline.

Intelligent insurance also offer cover for homes not used solely as a main residence, including – unoccupied homes, home business, second homes and holiday homes.
