How does Emporium Pet Insurance compares to Bought By Many?
All Bought By Many policies are lifetime, which means the vet fee cover level resets every year you renew so it can cover ongoing illness and conditions throughout the lifetime of your pet.
Insurance Emporium only offer one lifetime policy with the highest cover level fee of £8,000 which is £7,000 less than the £15,000 vet fee available with Bought By Many's Complete lifetime policy. You can choose a lower vet fee of £7,000 and £3,000 with Bought By Many's Regular and Value policies.
With Insurance Emporium, you can choose the level of cover you want which are listed under the three categories of: Bronze, Silver and Gold. For their Lifetime policy, Insurance Emporium's cover levels are: £2,500 (Bronze), £5,000 (Silver) and £8,000 (Gold).
Insurance Emporium also offer less comprehensive Time limited and Maximum Benefit policies. Alongside an Accident only and a separate Public Liability policy.
One main difference between the two companies is that Bought By Many policies cover conditions that ended more than two years ago. They also offer a policy that can cover more recent pre-existing conditions that ended at least three months ago.
Bought By Many customers can claim for dental treatment if they choose their Complete policy. However owners are asked to ensure their pet has a dental checkup with a vet at least once a year.
When making a claim, Bought By Many customers can use an online claims process that does not involve the use of forms. Insurance Emporium in comparison require customers to download a claim form which should be completed and returned.
At the time of writing, Insurance Emporium offer new customers a 20% discount when they first buy a policy. Bought By Many do not offer introductory discounts and believe that existing customers shouldn't pay a different price to new customers who have enjoyed the benefit of a discount.
Bought By Many do provide a 15% Multi-pet discount for more than one pet insured on the same policy (our multi-pet discount is not currently available on our Value 2k policy); this is higher than the 10% discount on offer from Insurance Emporium.
Pet owners can also choose Bought By Many's Moneyback policy where customers can get 20% of their pet insurance premium back if they don't claim in a policy year. Insurance Emporium do not offer a similar policy.
If you're worried about your pet and need quick advice, Bought By Many customers can get free 24/7 unlimited access to video consultations with a qualified veterinary professional. This service is provided as part of their partnership with FirstVet. Insurance Emporium currently do not provide any video or telephone help service for customers.
