We have an innovative claims process with no forms and our customers can book free video appointments with a vet.
Here are the simple steps to make a claim:
- Log in to your account - if you're not logged in, the button at the top of this page (click on the menu button if you're using a mobile device) will say 'Existing customers'. Click on it to log in. If you are logged in it will say 'My account'.
- Go to 'My quotes & policies' and click 'Make a claim' - Click on 'My account' to find the 'My quotes & policies' section. There you can see all your policies. Choose the one you want to make a claim on.
- Give us your vet's details - When you start the claims process it will ask some quick questions about the amount you are claiming and who your vet is. Once we have that information we'll contact the vet and do the rest. We'll keep you updated by text message as the claim progresses.
During the process, it will ask if you want to upload a photo of your vet invoice. We prefer an itemised invoice if you have it and if you have your pet's history from your vet you're welcome to upload that as well. You don't have to but it can speed up the claim.
Our Snap Claims system is designed to be a quick and convenient online process and there are no paper forms. However, if you would like to make a claim over the phone you can call our team on 0333 130 4552.

Book a video call with a vet
If you're concerned about your pet you can also use FirstVet to speak to a UK-registered vet. Bought By Many customers have unlimited free access to FirstVet and it can be used 24/7 on a phone or tablet.
FirstVet is an app that allows pet owners to book a video appointment with a vet. You can get their expert view and advice on symptoms, find out if you can treat your pet at home or get a second a opinion.
Their vets will always tell you if you need to take your pet to a local vet but we believe having immediate access to expert advice at the touch of a button can cut down on some unnecessary and stressful vet visits.
Download the app and fill in your details. It should find your pet's information from your Bought By Many policy. Find out more about FirstVet here.
Bought By Many claims number
You can make a claim over the phone, just call 0333 130 4552.
Our claims handlers will ask about the claim and your vet’s contact information. After that, we’ll be able to process the claim. We won’t ask you to fill in any forms, which should speed up the process and make your life easier.
If you have your policy number and any receipts for treatment to hand when you call it can speed up the claim, but this information is not essential.
Once we’ve contacted your vet we’ll update you on how the claim is progressing via text message and email.
If the claim is approved we can pay you or the vet, whichever you prefer.
When can I make a claim?
You have up to one year from the first diagnosis of an illness by a vet or the date an accident happened to make a claim. We will not be able to pay claims submitted later.
If you haven't had another policy before starting your Bought By Many cover we are not able to pay a claim for an accident within the first 48 hours of the policy. We are not able to pay a claim for illness or behavioural conditions within the first 14 days of the policy. And we are not able to pay a claim if your pet passes away due to illness within the first 14 days of the policy.
If you delayed the start date of your policy, these waiting periods begin from that policy start date.
However, we have removed the 14 day exclusion period for customers switching insurers. If you switch to Bought By Many with no gap between your policy starting and your old cover ending you can claim immediately for accidents and illness. If you do make a claim in the first 14 days, we will ask for details of your previous insurer to confirm there was no gap in your cover.
Waiting periods only apply when you first purchase a policy and not on renewal.
