David Woodfield By David Woodfield 9th July 2018

Summary

AXA PPP is one of the largest private medical insurance providers in the UK.

Its private healthcare plan, Personal Health, enables policyholders to choose their own cover, including when and where they are treated in the event of an illness or injury.

We've negotiated an exclusive offer with AXA PPP healthcare. If you join the group on our site AXA PPP healthcare will offer a £100 voucher when you take out a policy.

Axa’s health insurance helpline operates 24/7, with trained nurses and counsellors available on the line to answer any queries. The service also offers advice for staying fit and well, such as tips for staying healthy, getting exercise and managing the symptoms of long-term conditions.

Overview of health insurance cover provided by Axa health insurance

The Personal Health plan by Axa includes a number of benefits as standard, with the option to add further cover to enhance your health insurance policy, including out-patient cover.

Axa’s standard health insurance policy covers:

  • Heart and cancer care, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy
  • In-patient and day-patient treatment at 250+ hospitals
  • 24-hour helpline access to nurses and counsellors, plus daily access to midwives and pharmacists
  • Out-patient surgery
  • CT, MRI and PET scans

Policyholders can then choose up to 7 additional modules to enhance their cover. These include mental health cover, dentist and optician cash back, travel cover and therapies cover.

Restrictions may apply to the above coverage, based on your medical history. For example, any illness or injury you have suffered within the last 5 years will not be covered for the first two years of taking out a policy. However, after 24 consecutive months without treatment or advice, that particular ailment will become eligible for cover again.
