An overview of cover provided by AllClear Travel Insurance

As mentioned, AllClear specialises in travel insurance for pre-existing medical conditions. There is no upper age limit for annual or single trip policies and cover can be provided for most medical conditions, as well as most destinations (other than those the Foreign & Commonwealth Office advises against travelling to).

AllClear Insurance works like a broker – it scans a range of insurers, based on the customer’s quote form, and then list the best options for the specific circumstances. However, in addition to listing policies from other providers, it also offers two of its own policies:

AllClear Gold includes £10,000,000 medical expenses cover (excess £250), up to £2,000 for baggage (excess £75) and £2,000 cancellation cover (excess £250).

AllClear Gold Plus includes £15,000,000 medical expenses cover (excess £150), up to £2,500 for baggage (excess £75) and £5,000 cancellation cover (excess £150).

Airline failure cover can also be added to either policy for an additional cost. Both are available as either a single trip or annual multi-trip policy (max trip length 45 days).

All customers who takes out a policy through AllClear are given access to a UK-based customer service call centre.

How much does AllClear Holiday Insurance cost?

The price of travel insurance is affected by many different factors, such as the destination, the length of the holiday, the age of the people travelling and the activities they plan to participate in as part of the holiday. When the issue of existing medical conditions is added to the mix, the quote becomes even more complex and personal.

However, AllClear is known for providing affordable quotes, even for complex situations. One customer reported she was quoted £211 for annual multi-trip cover to Europe for a family of five, despite the fact she’s had cancer twice. Single trip cover would have been £69.

Additionally, we ran an example quote for a 35-year-old with diabetes travelling to Spain for a week and got the following results:

AllClear Gold: single trip - £17.84 / annual multi-trip - £64.80

AllClear Gold Plus: single trip - £19.88 / annual multi-trip - £72.13
