1st Central Insurance is a relatively new addition to the UK’s car insurance market, having been founded in 2008. Despite being new, the company is very popular on price comparison sites, such as Go Compare.

Overview of the cover provided by 1st Central Car Insurance

1st Central Insurance offers two types of car insurance cover: Third Party, Fire and Theft, and Comprehensive Car Insurance.

Third Party, Fire and Theft includes – cover in case your car is damaged by fire, lightning, explosion, theft or attempted theft (including spare parts and accessories); a replacement car if your car is less than 12 months old and is stolen and not recovered (conditions apply); unlimited liability cover in case you harm another person; up to £200,000 if you damage someone else’s property; up to £5,000,000 legal fees and expenses for liability claims; up to £1,500 for replacement locks and keys; 21 days driving in Europe; and a yearly no claims discount.

1st Central’s comprehensive car insurance cover includes all of the above, plus accidental damage to your car, including spare parts and accessories; replacement car if your car is less than 12 months old and is deemed a total loss following an accident (conditions apply); windscreen cover; up to £5,000 personal accident cover; up to £250 personal belongings cover; £100 per person for medical expenses following an accident; and a Class A courtesy car as standard.

Optional extras, such as extended personal accident cover, extended legal expenses cover, hire car cover, breakdown cover and excess protector cover are available for an additional premium.

All policy holders get access to a 24/7 UK based claims helpline.

How much does insurance cover from 1st Central Insurance cost?

The price of car insurance varies according to many different factors, such as the make, model and age of the car, plus how many miles it’s spent on the road and what it is predominately used for. The details of the driver, such as age, driving experience and postcode, also affect the cost.

1st central Insurance work hard to keep their prices down by taking extensive measures to combat insurance fraud.

A monthly payment plan is available, though this will incur slightly higher premiums.

On reviews.co.uk, 1st Central Car Insurance received 4.26 out of 5 stars, with 61% out of the 734 people who left reviews giving the service 5 stars, and a further 22% leaving 4 star reviews.

On Feefo, 1st Central was rated Good, with 90% out of 1024 customers leaving positive feedback.

Over on reviewcentre.com, 1st Central received 3.2 out of 5 stars, with 60% of the 1542 reviewers saying they would recommend the service.
