Job summary

As our talented team grows, so is our Claims Team. It is an exciting time for us; and we are looking for Claims Fraud Handler to join the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to make this brand-new role your own. You should be inspired by a

fast-paced environment and the opportunity to help develop and improve counter fraud processes to help protect our customers and business from the impacts of fraudulent claims.

You will help lead the way and investigate cases referred by teams within the Claims department to determine if there is evidence of potential fraud. You will also be responsible for preventing and detecting further fraudulent activity. As a Counter Fraud claims handler, you will be responsible for the effective management of the claim whilst working closely with regulatory requirement and relevant legislation.

Your key responsibilities

·       Work with Claims Management, and the Claims Team to build and support the implementation and development of counter fraud processes.

·       Create, develop and deliver resources and training to aid Claims Handlers in initially identifying cases with potential fraud indicators.

·       Reviewing all cases that are referred to you and determining whether further inquiries are necessary. 

·       Undertaking further investigations into cases of suspected or confirmed fraud where necessary

·       Report on cases that are referred and results of investigations.

·       Develop, monitor, and report on fraud detection, prevention processes and mechanisms.

·       Providing fraud related guidance and support to our claims department and other relevant business areas.

·       Defining referral processes.

·       Customer communication on potential fraud cases is key.

·       Building and maintaining key reports to show the success of the fraud controls and you successes.

How you’re measured

·       In-depth knowledge of general claim operating procedures.

·       An inquisitive nature and ability to be assertive in gaining details to assist with investigations.

·       Strong understanding and knowledge of the value and impact of our services.

·       Standard operating procedures.

·       FCA and regulatory / compliance requirements relevant to customer service, including Treating Customers Fairly and GDPR.

·       Customer engagement and investigation skills.

·       Detailed data analysis.

Experience and qualifications

·       Previous experience in Counter Fraud investigations.

·       Experience of claims handling preferred.

·       A successful career in claims or counter fraud roles within a general insurance team.

·       CII preferable.
