Job summary

Our business is growing fast, but our project teams need to be faster! You’ll be expected to exhibit the traditional Business Analyst skills and attributes while being able to adapt to Insurtech ways of working. As Business Analyst you’ll be responsible for driving the requirements definition for major change initiatives and smaller, more incremental changes. Having the BA instincts and ability is fundamental, coupled with the drive to deliver magic to our customers and work with our teams to improve our delivery of change.

Your key responsibilities

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to elicit and understand business needs, data, outcomes and requirements.
  • Devise innovative and practical solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Support the prioritisation and delivery of small, incremental changes across all of our Products.
  • Document business requirements and define acceptance criteria for testing.
  • Use business analysis techniques and tools proportionately to get to a ‘good enough’ design to progress a project/task.
  • Support the definition and documentation of customer journeys and operational processes, and ensuring business readiness for the changes.
  • When appropriate, support Product Managers in defining the strategic vision and in the delivery of the key targets and metrics.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of short-term initiatives while understanding how they feed into the ‘big picture’.
  • Provide support on larger scale projects and programmes through detailed requirements and scenarios.
  • Contribute to the on-going development of BBM best practise for business analysis and change.

What you bring

Knowledge

  • A good understanding of change and delivery methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban & Waterfall.
  • Awareness of software development terminology and practices.
  • Good knowledge of personal lines insurance and systems.
  • Good understanding of commercial implications on projects.

Skills and personal attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strength to challenge business owners, tech leads and requirements.
  • You have attention to detail but can understand the “big picture” .
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude to ‘get it done’ even under pressure.
  • Able to influence colleagues and partners to support your work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised, can manage and prioritise large and varied workload
  • Good commercial awareness with a performance mindset.

Experience and qualifications

  • Experience working in fast-moving, agile, dynamic environment.
  • Track record in building consensus and delivering good outcomes.
  • Business Analyst / Product Owner experience (essential).
  • Experience in Personal Lines insurance and platforms (preferable).
  • Familiar with project tools such as JIRA, ClickUp etc.
